NEWS: |411M| The following report is from 411Mania with full credit going to Larry Csonka…

-We get a video package on Sting and his most recent actions.

-Earlier today Sting arrived and Lauren tried to talk with him questioning if he will speak, he says tonight is the night.

-Tenay and West welcome us to the show and run down the card.

Awesome Kong w/Riesha Saeed vs. Sojourner Bolt (Josie from SHIMMER)

Some will know Josie from her work in SHIMMER, as well as her appearance in the Kong challenge on PPV a while back. Bolt has blond hair now, which doesn’t help as Kong tosses her down. She comes back with rights, dropkicks and rocks Kong. That doesn’t last long as Kong tackles her to the floor. Kong follows and tosses Bolt to the railing and then chokes out. Back in the ring, Bolt makes a comeback, leaps off of the 2nd rope and is leveled by Kong. Bolt avoids the spinning back fist and slaps Kong. Off the ropes, but Kong gets the spinning back fist. KONG BOMB and that is all.

Winner: Awesome Kong @ 3:00 via pin
# This was a fine little match to show off Kong’s dominance and to follow up on her destruction of Gail Kim last week. Josie (Sojourner) is a spunky face and looked good again working with Kong. The after match angle was also a good brawl.
RATING: *

-Kong beats her down after the match while Saeed gets her a few chairs and then sets them up. Kong looks for the bomb, but ODB rushes out and makes the save. She tosses a chair at Kong, tosses Saeed to the floor and then she and Kong brawl! Slick Johnson tries to break it up, fails and ODB gets a tornado DDT on Kong. Rights by ODB to a downed Kong as another ref is out and gets tossed away. Security is finally out to pull ODB off of Kong.

-JB is with AJ Styles. He will face Cage next week in a Four Ways to Glory Qualifying Match. As far as Cage goes, they have history. They were brothers, enemies and now they get along. He says that Cage is one of the best, and that they are both up to the challenge. Talk turns to Sting, and AJ says Sting is getting a receipt. He will let him speak, and then take his right hand and put it down Sting’s throat. JB asks about the Gold Medal, and AJ says it is in good hands.

-Rough Cuts featuring Consequences Creed airs next, as he explains how he came to join TNA.

Petey Williams w/Rhaka Khan and Sheik Abdul Bashir vs. Consequences Creed and Jay Lethal

Jay and Bashir to begin. Lock up and to the corner they go, Bashir almost hit Williams and Jay takes control. Double sledge off of the top and a cover for 2. Tag to Creed, dual jabs to Bashir and they take Bashir down and Creed covers for 2. Bashir rams Creed to the corner, tags Williams and they beat down Creed in the corner. To the corner, reversal and a corner clothesline by Creed. To the apron and Khan pulls him to the floor. Williams to the floor and tosses Creed back in and covers for 2. Sidekick, jawbreaker and a spinkick by Williams all connect. A tag to Bashir and he lays the boots to Creed, chops follow and Creed fights back but gets slammed to the corner. Back to the corner and a tag to Williams, a slam and then the slingshot senton misses as Williams lands on the back of his head. Tag to Jay, he cleans house on Williams, cartwheel into the dropkick and a cover for 2 as Bashir made the save. Williams back in, Jay with the DDT/Flatliner combo to both men. Jay up top and Bashir tosses him off the top. Bashir up top and Williams grabs Jay, Creed tosses Bashir off the top into Williams. Jay rolls Williams up for the pin.

Winners: Consequences Creed and Jay Lethal @ 4:25 via pin
# They did some good stuff, but it felt like doing stuff just in order to get to the miscommunication ending. It just lacked.
RATING: *½

-Williams and Bashir argue after the match. Refs are out to break them up. This looks familiar.

-Lauren is with ODB, who is drinking. ODB is more of a beast than Kong will ever be because she’s one dirty bitch. She wants Kong to bring it hard because that’s the way she likes it. This zoo isn’t big enough for the both of them.

~KAREN’S ANGLE~
CHRIS PARKS, not Abyss is Karen’s guest this week. It’s a pleasure for him to be there, as he tosses some shit around and sits on the floor. The mental institution was a home to him. Abyss was a destructive force that destroyed people and dreams. He was taught to be Chris, a good person. Abyss is a part of him and is always trying to get out. He doesn’t now what lies ahead for Abyss or Chris, but right now Chris and Abyss are one. He just wants to wrestle and he challenges anyone to wrestle him, he is rehabilitated. Chris asks Karen what she looks for in a man, since she is single and all. Snarling, whispering, or someone that screams! He wrote Karen a poem: “Your skin is golden, your eyes are brown, I can take you with me, but you can’t make a sound. Not a cry, not a whisper, not a peep, like a pool of blood, my love is so deep. Oh Miss Angle, I can be your teddy bear, but just for now, accept this gift. RAAARRRRARARARAR! My hair.”

-Kip James tries to fix Lauren as the Beautiful People bitch. She leaves and they say that they will face Wilde and Roxxi tonight. They are the Beautiful People and they are better than them and everyone else. The women want to be them and the men want to be with them. Love then says a lot of ladies would like to be with them as well, but they don’t swing that way. She will face Wilde for the title at No Surrender, and tonight she will hurt her. At No Surrender, she will pin her cottage cheese ass. Sup catfight.

-JB is with Angle and Trigg. He calls Angle a FORMER gold medallist, and Angle gets pissed. He then says AJ used a guitar to steal his medals. He prays that AJ is here so he can whoop his ass in front of everyone. He won’t sleep until he gets the medal back. JB informs Angle that AJ doesn’t have the medal anymore, he tries to kill JB and Trigg pulls him off and says not to sweat the small stuff. Trigg has AJ and that wife of his, he won’t leave like Tomko to try and be a Japanese shoot fighter, Kurt’s problems are his problems, and he has his back.

-Funny statement by Trigg, considering he just came back from Japan, where he won his latest MMA fight at the Sengoku 4 show.

Jimmy Wave w/Hemme vs. Curry Man

They brawl on the floor, Hemme tries to distract Curry Man, does and Rave gets an STO on the apron. Back into the ring and Rave takes control with boots, and a cover for 2. Rave with a shoulder block, Curry Man battles back with chops and then a spinkick. Jabs by Curry Man, off the ropes and a backdrop by Curry Man. A clothesline follows, springboard cross body by Curry Man gets 2. Rave counters a suplex, Curry Man dances, off the ropes and a clothesline and then shining wizard by Rave connects and he covers for 2. Side back breaker by Curry Man, SPICE RACK and that is all.

Winner: Curry Man @ 3:30 via pin
# I like both guys, but this just didn’t click for me. At least they are building a feud, but then again, it isn’t one I want on PPV.
RATING: *

-Hemme in and slaps Curry Man. Rock is in and as Curry Man fights him off Hemme gets a low blow. Black out by Rock and they beat down Curry Man. Hemme slaps Curry Man as they hold him, but here comes the rest of the Prince Justice Brotherhood. Super Eric and Sharky rush the ring, they clean house and save the day.

-Lauren is with Jim Cornette backstage. He says if Hemme wants to wrestle, then it will be the Prince Justice Brotherhood vs. Hemme, Rock and Rave at the PPV. Brooks is now in and Cornette says the offer she made is a deal. Cornette says they have enough Knockouts to make him crazy, and he needs her to be the Knockout Law here in TNA. He doesn’t care what she does, but she needs to keep them out of her hair. This is not a popularity contest. Wrestlers are products, and when they are past their shelf life, then wish them well in their future endeavors and replace them. He then makes a joke about her tits saying that she’ll never drown, and leaves. When Lauren asks what shelf life means, and Brooks says she may just find out.

-Back at Booker’s locker room he has invited Team 3D to watch Sting’s speech. Ray eats, and then argues over robe choices with Devon. This angers Booker, who tells them to sit and shut up. Booker says that there will be no guitar at No Surrender, and he will be victorious. They all drink champagne, Ray spills some and Booker yells at him.

-Tenay hypes No Surrender.

-JB is with Nash. They talk about the Four Ways to Glory Qualifying Match tonight, which could give Nash a world title shot. Nash says he did Cornette a favor a while back, and Cornette owed him. This is his payback. He tried to find Joe and talk to him, but he is chasing Sting. He will beat Kurt tonight so that he can watch Joe’s back. If Joe isn’t focused, Nash just may walk out world champion for the 6th time.

-Samoa Joe makes his way out to do commentary for the match.

Four Ways to Glory Qualifying Match: Kevin Nash vs. Kurt Angle

Joe says Nash is a man reborn as they have been working out together. Angle and Nash circle, Angle bails to the floor, complains that Joe is out here and then goes back into the ring. Lock up, elbows by Nash and then big rights. Off the ropes and Angle goes for a cross body, caught, slammed down but Nash misses the elbow drop. Rights and uppercuts by Angle, an Irish whip and reversal by Nash. A clothesline in the corner follows, and then a back breaker by Nash. He bends Angle over his knee and then goes into a cover for 2. Another cover for 2. We move to the Nash corner offense; knees, back elbows, posing, more elbows and Angle is down. To the other corner and Nash chokes out Angle with the boot, and we’ll head to a commercial @ 3:00.

Back from commercial @ 8:00 and Angle is in control now, working the knees of Nash. Angle breaks him down to the mat, drops elbows on the knees and works a knee crank. Angle now applies the figure four-leg lock, and has Nash trapped in the center of the ring. Nash tries to turn the hold, but that fails. Joe’s great on commentary here. Nash turns the hold, and gets the ropes. Angle right back to attacking the knees, but he runs into a side slam by Nash and BOTH men are down. They get to their feet, trade rights, and a short-armed clothesline by Nash. Snake eyes follows, lays Angle on the ropes and limps into the leg over the back choke. A shoulder block by Nash gets 2. To the floor they go, Nash SLAPS Joe and says to watch him. Joe is pissed and Nash is back in with Angle, big boot to Angle. Straps down, the ref tries to get rid of Joe, and this allows Angle to low blow Nash, Angle slam and that is all.

Winner: Kurt Angle @ 13:00 via pin
# For a match without the smoke and mirrors, this is about as good as you can expect from Nash right now. They told a decent enough story, unfortunately it is the same one they have worked in every Nash match this year.
RATING: **

-After the match Joe and Nash argue, as Joe tells Nash to practice what he preaches. Nash leaves, and he may be crying.

-Four Ways to Glory TNA World Title Match: Samoa Joe © vs. Booker T vs. Kurt Angle vs. Winner of Christian Cage vs. AJ Styles

-We get a video package on…THE GUITAR!

-Tenay and West say that we have been speculating on the source of the guitar. Really?

-We then get a Jeff Jarrett video package, since he is synonymous with the guitar. God bless Jarrett, using that Hogan footage again. A damn fine video package actually.

-We get highlights of SoCal Val being injured last week at the hands of Jay Lethal. She has a black eye. Because of the foolishness she got hurt. If Jay and Sonjay want to fight over her, fine. They can hang the ring over the um, ring, and who ever gets it gets here. SOCAL VAL ON A FUCKING POLE MATCH! And people bitched when it was said at the beginning of their feud.

-We get a Knockouts video package.

The Beautiful People (Love and Sky) w/Kip James vs. Roxxi and Taylor Wilde

Roxxi and Love to begin, Roxxi tosses her down and Love talks with Kip James. Love back in, front facelock by Roxxi, into the arm ringer and tags in Wilde. Love runs away, Kip fixes her hair and she then makes her way back into the ring. Sky tags in and Wilde scares her, she falls and rights by Wilde follow. Jesus they blew a Thesz press, Velvet Sky sucks. To the corner, a whip and kicks by Wilde. Mounted rights, Kip distracts the ref and Love nails Wilde with the makeup case. Sky lays the boots to the gut of Wilde, chokes her in the ropes, snap mare and a kick to the back by Sky. To the corner, Love in as Roxxi is distracting the ref trying to get into help Wilde. Snap mare and a basement dropkick by Love, and then slams Wilde down by her hair. Love slams her down by the hair once again, and we head to a commercial @ 4:00.

Back from commercial @ 8:00 as Roxxi got the hot tag, she cleans house and is looking awesome in doing so. Sky blows a break up spot and about falls on her face, Roxxi rolls up Love for 2. Spinebuster by Roxxi for 2. Wilde and Sky brawl, and then I just saw the WORST cross body miss ever as Sky dove out of the way like, 10 seconds early. Kip James tosses in a spray bottle, Sky sprays it in the face of Roxxi as she goes for the Voodoo Crusher. Bicycle kick by Love and she gets the pin on Roxxi.

Winner: The Beautiful People (Love and Sky) @ 10:00 via pin
# It had moments when it was good (Roxxi off of the hot tag) and moments where it looked very bad (when Sky and Wilde were in there). In the end with the commercial cut factored in, his was not good.
RATING: ½*

-Kip and the Beautiful People go to brown bag Roxxi, but Wilde slaps him and that leads to a beat down of Wilde. Kip gets scissors and they go to cut Wilde’s hair, but RHINO of all people makes the save. I guess he’s doing Taylor Wilde.

~MAIN EVENT INTERVIEW: STING SPEAKS~
Sting makes his way to the ring and says a few months ago he had an interview with Mike Tenay. He discussed his retirement, but he had a question. What would happen if he turned the business over to the next generation. It would be the end of TNA as we know it today. It would be a grave mistake, because they would spit in the face of TNA like they spit in his face. Joe had his opponent beat 1, 2,3; but he didn’t take it, he bloodied his opponent. A jewel in wrestling, Booker T is a legend in this business. But Joe disrespected that and so he got involved, and he wanted to help Joe. He looked at Joe as someone who could carry the torch of TNA, but Joe rejected him and disrespected a man that paved the way for him. When he was Joe’s age and Ric Flair took him under his wing. Flair believed him Sting like he believes in Joe. He respected Flair’s peers who paved the way. AJ one day called him Mr. Sting, and now he calls him a coward and says he owes him something. Sting doesn’t owe anyone anything. AJ owes him because he paved the way for him to be a wrestler. AJ should thank him for the chance to be a pro wrestler. Sting will not pay homage to this generation. They are a bunch of spoiled, rotten brats. One way or another, he will bring respect back into the business. He will be a babysitter, the parent that no one wants to listen to. If you think he’s wrong, come tell him to his face.

AJ Styles now makes his way to the ring. He says that Sting is wrong, dead wrong. He looked up to Sting, he idolized him and never, EVER disrespected him. AJ says he helped get this company started. Sting says he wanted to help AJ, and that’s why he got involved at Hard Justice. You cannot respect someone you call a coward. At Hard Justice, you took it one step too far with Kurt Angle. You could have walked away. Angle was a champion in WWE, a champion here, and has done something none of us have done, win an Olympic Gold Medal. Michael Phelps doesn’t spit in Mark Spitz face, does he? I will give you my bat, turn my back and let you take it too me. Go ahead AJ, take it and I will turn my back. Use both hands AJ come on. AJ refuses and Sting shoves him. HIT ME OVER THE HEAD AJ! Some of them are asking you to do it AJ.

AJ turns Sting around, boot by Sting and he gets the scorpion death drop on AJ. That didn’t work out as planned.

Jarrett’s music hits….

End scene…

TNA has done a great job with this Sting and Jarrett thing. I still think TNA can let Sting go, but they’ve been using him pretty well. The appearances of the bat and guitar is a nice touch. I think it’s a good time for Jarrett to come back. He’s been gone for a loooong time now and it’ll be nice to see him back in the ring.

It’s All About the Money for Gail Kim

[ No Comments ] Posted on 08.28.08 under TNA Wrestling Blog

RUMOR: |PWT| The reason why Gail Kim left is because of money. She supposedly found TNA’s offer insulting and could not turn down WWE’s offer which was 3 times higher. Kim felt she had no choice and chose WWE instead.

There you have it. Gail Kim left TNA because TNA can’t compete in the $$$ department. Never mind that TNA is trying to redefine women’s wrestling. And never mind that Kim was critical to the success of the Women’s Division. I guess everyone has a price and Gail has hers.

Not Sure What to Think

[ No Comments ] Posted on 08.27.08 under TNA Wrestling Blog

RUMOR: |PWT| It looks like Foley’s jump to TNA is in the works. Foley’s WWE contract is up September 1st and afterwards he is free to sign with TNA. It’s believed that a verbal agreement has been made between the two and only a contract signing remains.

I think Foley is great, but I don’t want him in TNA. Foley in WWE is good because he won’t overshadow everyone. But I think he will do that in TNA. TNA will make a big deal about him and this will push someone else off the show. But maybe this will get more people watching TNA so who knows. I guess I’m on the fence for this one.

You Sold Out

[ No Comments ] Posted on 08.22.08 under TNA Wrestling Blog

NEWS: |BS| More reports are coming out concerning Gail Kim. It’s being reported that Gail Kim was renegotiating her new TNA contract until things fell apart. Apparently TNA did not meet Kim on certain items so she is now WWE bound.

I still can’t believe this. The Women’s Division in TNA is going strong and now Kim wants to jump ship. It’s nuts. No one respects women’s wrestling because WWE doesn’t respect the division in the first place. They just hire women they see at bikini contests and put them in the ring to do some ridiculous dance routine or a bikini contest etc etc etc. This is very disappointing. And also frustrating.

NEWS: |411M| The following report is from 411Mania with full credit going to Larry Csonka…

-We get a video package from last week’s show.

-JB catches up with Angle. He is here to get his medal back and to get revenge for last week. We all know who it is. This is planet Angle now, and he will stick his flag right up his ass to prove it.

-Tenay and West welcome us to the show.

Hernandez w/Hector Guerrero and Salinas vs. Robert Roode w/James Storm and Miss Jackie Moore

Roode attacks Hernandez as he tries to enter the ring and they brawl to the floor. Roode loses his advantage as Hernandez battles back and tosses him into the ring. Roode catches Hernandez on the way in, but Hernandez comes back with chops and a whip to the corner and the splash follows. Stalling vertical suplex by Hernandez, Roode rolls to the floor for a time out. Hernandez looks for the dive, but holds up as Rood and Storm run. Jackie now distracts the ref, which allows Beer Money to trick Hernandez into a game of chase. They whip Hernandez into the steps, roll him back in and Roode covers for 1. Roode tries to rip the nose of Hernandez off. To the corner, chops by Roode and a snap mare and Hennig neck flip. Boots and a knee by Roode, a neck breaker follows and a cover of 2. Roode goes to the chinlock, but Hernandez stands and slams him to the corner. Corner splash is countered, Hernandez to the apron but flies in with the shoulder block. Big backdrop to Roode, and then the Mexican Back Breaker into the DDT gets 2. Shoulder blocks in the corner by Hernandez, to the other corner and an elbow by Roode. Blockbuster by Roode! 1…2…kick out by Hernandez. Roode sets for the payoff, Hernandez powers out and gets the gourd buster. Salinas SPEARS Jackie as she comes into the ring, that stops the border toss try but a shoulder block by Hernandez levels Roode. Storm holds Hernandez now, Roode almost hits him and Hernandez slams them together! Reverse back breaker into a gut first Samoan drop (HE’S NOT EVEN SAMOAN) and that’s all.

Winner: Hernandez @ 6:10 via pin
# That was a fine little opener. They saved the junk until the end and Hernandez overcomes the odds once again and gets the win. If they do the LAX split I can see Homicide coming back, taking the pin again in the title match and Hernandez getting pissed about it because he has won on his own and could say that Homicide is holding him back.
RATING: **½

-JB is with AJ Styles. He’s wearing the Gold Medal and says to address him as a Gold Medallist. AJ says the soap opera will unfold and it won’t be pretty. He also knows Kurt wants this back and he will give him a chance, in a ladder match tonight. Last week was Kurt’s way, but tonight it is his way. Angle, who is being held back by security is here screaming that he wants his medals back.

-Tenay and West speculate about the bat and guitar appearances and then hype the rest of the show.

The Motor City Machineguns (Shelley and Sabin) vs. Eric Young and BG James

Sabin and Eric to begin. Lock up and Eric to the arm, Sabin escapes and gets an arm drag. Lock up again, to the corner and rights by Sabin. An Irish whip and float over by Eric, gets a dropkick and a cover for 1. Sidekick by Sabin, tag to Shelley and Eric works the arm, tag to BG and he gets a boot to the face. Off the ropes, jabs by BG, dances and Shelley catches him and Sabin gets a missile dropkick into a flatliner by Shelley. Double-teams now by the Guns, basement dropkick by Sabin and then as they try to get the advantage BG gets a double DDT. Tag to Eric and he cleans house. Flair corner flip, Shelley to the floor and he slides in and rolls up Sabin for 2. Rights by Eric, cross body by Shelley and then a dropkick to BG James. Double team corner attacks by the Guns on Eric, Shelley slingshots to the floor and misses BG. Wheelbarrow neck breaker by Eric to Sabin and that’s all.

Winners: Eric Young and BG James @ 4:25 via pin
# Well Eric Young and BG James are a completely random pairing. The Guns continue to lose, which is disheartening. They look to be headed towards a heel turn, which I don’t exactly get.
RATING: **

-After the match Shelley shakes with them, BG does the little brother head rub to Sabin and he slaps BG! They all brawl and security breaks them up. BG promises to take respect from them.

-JB is with Angle, and he warns Angle to respect Booker’s Locker room. Angle goes in and Booker demand she take his shoes off. Angles does and asks a favor, and Booker seems to be using a Hispanic accent this week. Tremendous. Angle explains that he has a ladder match, and asks Booker to be in his corner just in case a certain someone with a guitar shows up. Booker agrees, and discusses his bout with Rhinoceros. Booker offers him champagne, but Angle says he doesn’t drink so Booker says all the more for him. Angle doesn’t drink? The Pittsburgh police would beg to differ.

-We get a history video package of Val, Lethal and Dutt.

~KAREN’S ANGLE~
Karen’s guest is Val this week. They discuss her courtship with Jay, and the drama with Sonjay. Val doesn’t know what to do and feels lost. Karen says Jay said she had to make a choice, but she says she doesn’t deserve to be stuck in the middle. Dutt arrives and says he is in love with her, and would never put her in that position. Dutt says to pick him and that he will do anything to help her make that choice. He goes to kiss her and Jay DIVES into the scene and attacks him. They brawl and as Jay goes to hit Dutt, he accidentally hits Val. Karen freaks out.

-Tenay says Val has a concussion and facial bruising.

-We get more rough cuts with Consequences Creed. Kurt Angle was a huge influence on him, going back to the 1996 Olympics. They studied him in high school wrestling. They highlight his success as a high school wrestler.

Matt Morgan vs. Frankie Capone

Capone attacks at the bell, jumps on his back but gets slammed down. Rights by Capone, Morgan tosses him to the corner and charges in with the big splash. Morgan chokes him over the ropes and gets the big boot over the back of Capone. Lays Capone on the bottom rope and delivers the leg drop. Big bicycle kick by Morgan leads to the HELLEVATOR for the win.

Winner: Matt Morgan @ 1:25 via pin

-Brother Ray is out and calls Morgan stupid. He says Morgan beat a guy that has no future in the business. Ray enters the ring and says if Morgan wants to fight, he can fight him. Devon attacks from behind and they lays the boots to him just like last week. Abyss is out once again and he and Morgan clear the ring.

-Gail Kim prepares for her final TNA match.

-Tenay talked with Kevin Nash earlier in the day. Nash explains his relationship with Joe. He helped get Joe into TNA, he saw tapes of him and saw a uniqueness to him that could help TNA. They spent time together, and he likes him, they are friends. Nash says he hasn’t got to Joe that the mental game is just as important as the physical. His temper hurt him, and it could cost him the world title. Talk turns to Sting, and Nash says he will not speak for Steve, but they go back 20-years, and it was a different business then. There weren’t boys there, they were all men. He gave Harley Race respect right away, and did business the right way. The kids these days don’t do that. Nash says the kids don’t care about the pecking order, and maybe that is why Sting is upset. Sting will be here next week and will speak for himself.

-Earlier today Lauren caught up with the Beautiful People, and at No Surrender Angelina Love will face Taylor Wilde for the Knockouts Title. She will beat the midget for the title and give it a makeover. Kip arrives and kicks out Taylor’s stylist. He messes up her hair and the Beautiful People attack and give her a “makeover.”

-JB is with Rhino. Rhino says that there is a lot of drama around here, but none of it has to do with wrestling. People are choosing side, but he is here to wrestle. He has to face Booker T, and he will defeat him and get in the main event match for the TNA World Title. He’ll GORE him. GORE him he says, for sure.

Qualifying Match for the No Surrender Four Ways to Glory TNA Title Match: Rhino vs. Booker T w/Sharmell

They circle a bit, lock up and a go behind by Booker. Reversal by Rhino, off the ropes and a clothesline by Rhino gets 2. Chops by Rhino in the corner, snap mare and leg drop follows and a cover for 2. Rights by Rhino in the corner, chokes him out and then an eye poke by Booker. Christian Cage makes his way to the ring and she tries to slap him and Cage snags her up and carries her to the back. We’ll head to commercial @ 3:00.

Back from commercial @ 7:00 with Booker in control, landing a sidekick and covering for 2. Snap mare and a chinlock by Booker. During the break Rhino missed the gore, which allowed Booker to gain the advantage. Rhino battles back to his feet, off the ropes and a leaping sidekick by Booker takes him right back down. A boot by Booker, off the ropes and misses the Ax kick, and Rhino levels him. Rights by Rhino, to the corner and a clothesline to Booker. Corner spear by, belly-to-belly follows. Rhino goes up top and MISSES the head butt or splash, whatever it was looked a bit sloppy. Ax kick by Booker and that is all.

Winner: Booker T @ 10:00 via pin
# The man you expected to win won the match, so there you go. It was fine, the commercial killed some of the flow and it just never kicked into high gear.
RATING: *½

-Updated line up for the Four Ways to Glory TNA Title Match: Samoa Joe © vs. Booker T vs. ??? vs. ??? vs. ???

-Lauren is with Kim, and they discuss her feud with Kong and her injuries. She asks if she should just pack her bags and leave because of the match, foreshadowing. She isn’t a good girl that follows the rules, tonight she will do anything and we’ll see a different side of Gail Kim.

X-Division Title Match: Petey Williams © w/Rhaka Khan vs. Consequences Creed

They lock up and trade go behinds, to the mat they go and Williams gets the ropes and they break. Arm drag by Creed, another and into the arm bar. Creed now works the cross arm breaker and then into the hammerlock. Williams escapes and they stand off. Right by Creed to the gut, but Williams back with a knee. Creed then takes him down, Williams escapes again and then Creed gets a summersault into the clothesline. Williams to the floor, Creed follows and gets sent into the railing. Khan lays the boots to Creed and gets her boot caught in the railing, HAHA! Back in they go and Williams gets control. A hair toss by Williams, and then a dropkick to the back. Sheik Abdul Bashir is watching on from the ramp, Creed misses a corner clothesline. He comes back with a trip and an elbow drop for 2. Williams with the jawbreaker and a spinkick takes Creed down. Rights by Williams, off the ropes and a clothesline by Williams connects. He misses some elbows drops and Creed gets a cross body block. Back elbows connect, a slam and then Creed goes up top. HUGE leg drop connects for 2. To the corner, Creed eats an elbow and Williams gets the tilt a whirl into the Russian Leg Sweep for 2. Destroyer countered but a spinkick by Williams gets a close 2. To the corner they go, Creed battles back and lands knee strikes. Springboard bulldog by Creed, right and then an Enziguri. Press slam into the double knee gut buster by Creed. Bashir comes to the ring, Creed tosses him and then tosses to the floor. PLANCHA by Creed lays out both men! Creed and Williams back in, Creed up top and eats a boot on the way down, counters and a superkick by Creed! Bashir in the ring and we get a DQ.

Winner: Consequences Creed @ 7:00 via DQ
# Another fun match from Creed and Williams although at times they seemed as if they were stalling for the run in. They are obviously working Bashir into the title mix with his actions at the PPV and tonight, as well as the win over Lethal last week.
RATING: **¾

-Bashir attacks Creed, but Williams is pissed about this and they argue.

-JB is with the Rock and Rave Infection and the Prince Justice Brotherhood. The Infection is being served for insulting Rock and Roll. Curry Man discusses Hanna Montana and hits on Hemme. The Rock and Rave lay them out Guitar Hero style.

-Kurt Angle will be in a qualifying match for the Four Ways to Glory TNA Title Match at No Surrender next week. No opponent announced.

Knockouts Street Fight: Gail Kim vs. Awesome Kong w/Riesha Saeed

Kong charges at the bell, but Kim pulls down the ropes and Kong falls to the floor. The brawl, Kong slams her to the barricade but forearm shots by Kim follow. Kong then slams Kim to the steel post and looks to take control. Kong tosses her into the crowd and follows. Kim tries to come back, Kong with chops and then charges and Kim moves, causing Kong to collide with the wall. Kim on top of the wall and gets a double sledge. Kong is slammed to the railing and they brawl into the crowd. Kong had enough of that and slams Kim down and chokes her out. Kong uses an umbrella from an audience member, but Kim battles back with rights and forearms. A boot by Kong drops Kim and back to ringside we go. Kong gets a kendo stick and chokes out Kim with it. Kim gets the stick and lays into Kong with it. Kim then beats down Saeed and tosses her to the railing. Kong charges at her and misses, crashing into the railing. Into the ring they go and Kim beats down Saeed with the kendo stick. Neck breaker by Kim and Saeed is down. Tosses a chair to Kong and dropkicks it into her face, and covers for 2. Kim wedges it in the corner, rights to Kong, whips her but Kong reverses and misses a sit down on Kim. Clotheslines by Kim, lung blower and Kong is still up! Kong counters the neck breaker, but charges into the chair and Kim gets a sunset flip for 2! Kim up top, caught and Kong gets the Implant Buster for the win.

Winner: Awesome Kong @ 6:05 via pin
# Kim and Kong always work well together, and this was no different. A bit short, but a strong and decisive victory for Kong works perfectly since Kim is leaving the promotion.
RATING: **½

-Saeed and Kong beat down Kim after the match. They lay out the chair and Kong tosses the red to the floor. Kong grabs Kim as another ref comes in, and Kong grabs him by the throat and tosses him. Katie Kim now enters the ring and covers her “sister” up. Kong sees her and gets in her face, grabs her and goes for the Kong bomb…but ODB and Roxxi are here with chairs to try and stop this. Kong uses her as a shield and escapes.

Ladder Match for the Gold Medal: AJ Styles vs. Kurt Angle w/Booker T

After that gauntlet match, you wouldn’t think Angle would want any part of a ladder this soon. Booker is out with Angle, he has a ladder and sets t up right away. AJ is out and brawls with Booker, which brings out Joe to brawl with Booker. AJ and Angle now go at it, Angle rakes the eyes of AJ and grabs the ladder and misses AJ. Snap mare and kicks by AJ, counters a German but Angle gets an overhead belly-to-belly suplex. Angle gets the ladder and AJ is back and tries to stop him, but Angle slams him into the barrier with it. AJ battles back and stops the ladder from going in the ring. Dropkick by AJ, Angle to the floor and AJ gets a slingshot plancha onto Angle. Booker watches on as Sharmell makes her way to the ring and we head to a commercial @ 2:00.

Back from commercial @ 6:30 with Angle choking out AJ. Angle has control, and during the break Angle got a low blow to take control. AJ tried to make a comeback, but Angle gets a drop toehold on AJ onto the ladder. Snap suplex by Angle, sets up the ladder and AJ is back up and delivers forearms to Angle. To the corner and Angle gets a go behind and German suplex. Angle now works the chinlock as Joe tries to yell strategy to AJ. SJ to his feet, he escapes and counters the Angle slam into a DDT. Clotheslines by AJ, and then the DVD into a back breaker! AJ sets up the ladder, climbs and Angle knocks him off. AJ slams Angle onto the ladder headfirst and AJ grabs the ladder again and climbs. Angle pulls him off and gets the Angle slam! Angle climbs now, AJ is alive and grabs the ladder and he knocks Angle off of the ladder. That was a bad fall. The ladder is mangled. AJ to the apron, Sharmell grabs his leg and he kicks her off and gets the springboard superman forearm. Joe and Booker brawl, and Booker levels Joe with a baseball bat. AJ climbs the ladder now, Angle is up and climbs as the battle at the top. LIGHTS OUT, JJ’s MUSIC! Back on and AJ has a guitar and levels Angle, who falls off of the ladder. AJ grabs the medal and wins.

Winner: AJ Styles @ 13:00
# Seriously, if you are going to do a ladder match in the main event can we advertise it and maybe, not break it up with the commercial? Come on. Anyway this was fine for a TV ladder match, but even without the crazy spots it would have been nice if they would have picked up the action a bit. I didn’t want them to give away a total PPV performance, but when you have AJ and Kurt, you tend to expect more.

This Can’t Be Right

RUMOR: |PW| TNA has removed all references to Gail Kim except for an advertised match tonight. This may be a sign that Gail Kim is done with TNA.

How is this story true? Gail Kim practically built the Women’s Division with her own two hands. I really hope she’s not leaving TNA for WWE.

Sting Chooses Money (allegedly)

[ No Comments ] Posted on 08.16.08 under TNA Wrestling Blog

RUMOR:|PW| Sting was not at the recent iMPACT! tapings and will continue to miss them until his contract has been restructured. Sting and TNA are in negotiations right now and until these are resolved, we will not see him back on TV.

I really appreciate Sting coming to TNA to help out the next generation. These days, it’s hard to find wrestlers who put money ahead of everything, but that’s not Sting.

What a piece of crap. TNA does not need Sting. He’s not worth it anymore and the company should move forward without him. The guy has tons of money, barely works already and won’t show up until a new contract is signed? BS.

NEWS: |411M| The following report is from 411Mania with full credit going to Larry Csonka…

-We get a video package from Hard Justice!

-Lauren meets with Joe and Nash as they arrive. She asks about the guitar, and Joe says if Booker and Sting want to play, he’s ready. Things are getting interesting around here, everyone is coming out to play. Nash discusses Sting, and says he won’t speak for him and Joe only knows half of it.

-Tenay and West welcome us to the show.

Christian Cage and Rhino vs. The Rock and Rave Infection (Rave and Rock) w/Christy Hemme

Rhino and Rave to begin things. Rhino over powers him at first and then takes his head off with a clothesline. Tag to Cage, double hip toss connects. Off the ropes and a knee to the gut by Cage. Rave runs and hugs Rock, who tags in and clubs down Cage. Rights, off the ropes and a big boot missed. Tag to Rhino, Cage whips Rhino into Rock in the corner. Belly to belly by Rhino, goes for the gore by Rave trips him up. Hemme and Rave then crotch Rhino on the post, which seriously had to suck. Mounted rights by Rave, Rock tags in and they double team elbow drop Rhino, Rock covers for 2. Boots by Rock, chokes out Rhino in the ropes and then Hemme does the same. Rave tags in, lays the boots to Rhino, shoots him off the ropes by Rhino manages a spinebuster and a cover for 2 as Rock broke that up. Rights by Rock, but Rhino gets a clothesline and gets the tag to Cage. He tosses Rock, clothesline to Rave. Chops follow, inverted DDT as well and a cover for 2. 2nd rope uppercut by Cage, unprettier stopped by a big boot from Rock. Rhino back in, tosses Rock, double backdrop to Rave. GORE turns Rave inside out, a frog splash by Cage follows and that is all.

Winners: Cage and Rhino @ 4:10 via pin
# This was a fine little opener here. Cage and Rhino continue to look good, and Rave and Rock got enough offense to look competitive. It could have been a bit longer though.
RATING: **

-JB is with Kurt Angle, with gold medal. He is holding his neck brace and JB asks how his neck is. Angle says it is sore, stiff, injured; not a secret. He has worn it all week, but it IS Olympic week, better yet, Angle week. A hero was born in 1996 as he won a gold medal. He is the greatest wrestler that ever lived, but TNA doesn’t see that. He had to fight in a last man standing match, not a wrestling match. He is a role model, and he abided by the rules. AJ didn’t. He cheated to win and attacked him and tried to break his neck twice, thank God for Sting saving him. Tonight he chooses the match, and he says that they will have a gold medal challenge. No ropes, three two minute periods and points count. The winner gets the gold medal. He won the gold medal with a broken FRICKEN NECK, and can do it again with an injured one. Get ready for a mauling AJ, it’s real, it’s damn real!

-JB is with AJ Styles. JB runs down the events of Hard Justice, and AJ says he promised that Kurt Angle would not get up. He stood behind that and he did not get back up. JB brings up Sting, and AJ says a man he looked up too chose him to make an example out of. He was wrong about Sting. He is no different from Angle, but if he thinks he will make an example out of AJ, he is damn wrong. AJ accepts the challenge, and says the gold will come home with him tonight.

-West and Tenay speculate about the mystery guitar and Sting’s appearance at the PPV.

-Lauren is with Matt Morgan, and he says that he has goals. Since he began he has been a PPV main event waiting to happen, and in TNA you make opportunity. He set a goal when he set foot in TNA, and that is to become the world champion and he doesn’t care who it is he has to beat. Stack the guys up against him, because the blue print will knock them down.

Matt Morgan vs. Johnny Devine

Devine gets no entrance, sup jobber? Morgan does his Brock hop, they stand off, Devine talks shit and slaps Morgan. He runs, Morgan chases and tosses him down. Clothesline from Morgan, gets the corner charge but then misses a big boot and crotches himself. Devine clubs away at him, Morgan tosses him down and then takes his head off with a big boot. HELLEVATOR for Devine and that is all.

Winner: Matt Morgan @ 1:00 via pin

-Team 3D is out and attacks Morgan. They beat him down and Abyss is now out to make the save. He tosses down a cameraman, black hole slam for Devine, who was tossed into Abyss by 3D. Morgan and Abyss stand off, Morgan offers to shake his hand and Abyss accepts. THE MEGA POW…oh wait, wrong year.

KAREN’S ANGLE
Karen’s guests this week are the Beautiful People, Angelina Love and Velvet Sky. They requested to be on the show, and they are heart broken because nobody likes them. Angelina cries a bit, so fake and she bitches about the tissue given to her. Karen says they should be nice and they laugh her off. She says they are whining and are here to introduce someone they hired to primp and dress them. Kip James. Kill me. He mocks Karen and calls her a witch. Karen ends the interview as Kip makes fun of her even more.

-Katie Kim, Gail’s sister is in attendance.

-Lauren is with Jay Lethal, and he is upset because Val hasn’t spoken to him since the PPV. He says Val needs to choose between he and Sonjay. Val had a big heart, which is why he loves her, but when it comes to Sonjay, screw her. This thing is NOT over until he says it is over.

-Bashir talks, he doesn’t care if we boo or cheer him, because he understands. He stole everything lady America had, money, cars, real estate, and fame. It wasn’t difficult to take because she wanted someone to have it. But as we lazily stood by for a handout, the Middle Eastern Nightmare took his. But he doesn’t love lady America, no; he just loves raping her. Seriously.

Sheik Abdul Bashir vs. Jay Lethal

Jay tackles him and starts to beat his ass for that rape comment. Chops by Jay, a whip, hip toss, cartwheel and dropkick all connect. To the ropes, Bashir to the floor and Jay gets a suicide dive! Back in the ring we go, double ax smash off the top by Jay gets 2. An Irish whip, reversal and Bashir then pulls Jay off the 2nd rope. A neck breaker follows and then another, that gets a cover for 2. Knees by Bashir and then the chinlock. Jay to his feet, escapes and then counters a slam and covers for 2. Jay counters a neck breaker, but double chops by Bashir gets a cover for 2. Back to the chinlock, rakes the back and Jay counters a clothesline and gets three of his own. To the corner, chops and a whip and backdrop and cover for 2 by Jay. A jawbreaker by Bashir, chops and Jay gets a small package, rolls through into a suplex for 2. Rights in the corner by Jay, lays the boots to Bashir and the ref backs him off. Bashir gets a SPIKE and nails Jay in the throat. A boot and DDT by Bashir, the WMD, gets the win.

Winner: Sheik Abdul Bashir @ 5:25 via pin
# Not a bad little match. Bashir is doing the classic foreign heel gimmick, and it works in the ring. But the rape and “WMD” deal are already turning people off, judging by my IM’s during the match.
RATING: *¾

-Sonjay is out after the match and goes up top and gets a 450 on Jay.

-JB is with Booker T and Sharmell. Booker looks insane and says what is on his mind is the guitar. He still has the bump on his head. He had Joe beat in the six sides of steel with weapons that will hurt a man. Is it a joke? Doesn’t that hick have an interest in the company? Well if you mess with the bull and you get the horns. And if you mess with Booker, you get his foot up your… He isn’t going there. He will let his actions speak for him.

-We get a Sting video package.

-After Hard Justice they left the cameras rolling and we see Nash and Sting talking. Sting says he is not confused at all, and he has run out of patience. His clock is ticking, and Nash should check his because it is now or never.

Team 3D vs. Samoa Joe and Kevin Nash

Devon and Joe will kick things off for this tag match. Off the ropes and Joe levels Devon. Back elbow and kick in the corner, and Devon is down. Devon battles back, tag to Ray and a double suplex on Joe and Ray covers for 2. Jabs by Joe, off the ropes and a snap mare Ray. Chops, kicks and a knee drop all connect. Tag to Nash, corner attack straight from the Nash 101 playbook. Bog boot choke follows, Devon cheap shots him but Nash side slams him and covers for 2. We head to a commercial @ 3:00.

We are back from commercial @ 6:45 with 3D in control over Nash. Devon works the knee of Nash, no torn quad so we’re ok thus far. Devon cannon balls the knee, tags Ray and he comes in and sends Joe to the floor. Single leg by Ray, knee bar applied and Nash tries to stay alive. Single leg crab by Ray, he uses the ropes for leverage and then releases the hold. Tag to Devon, Ray whips him and a boot by Nash to counter. Clothesline for Ray and all three are down. Tag to Joe and he cleans house on 3D. Enziguri to Ray, atomic drop and leg lariat to Devon. Leaping knee to Ray! Head butt by Devon, Nash in and a boot to Devon. Joe covers for 2. Ray attacks Joe from behind, reverse 3D connects and Devon covers for 2. They set for the 3D, Nash pulls Ray to the floor and Joe gets the clutch on Devon! Devon taps.

After the match Joe gets a chair and just lays an ass whooping on Devon and Nash take sit away. Joe argues with the ref, and then lays him out! They reverse the decision.

Winners: Team 3D @ 10:30 via DQ
# This was good overall. 3D worked the basic tag formula on Nash, Joe ran wild and looked good. Also Joe returning to a bad ass that doesn’t whine will be a good thing, if that happens.
RATING: **

-Nash tells Joe he cost them the win, but Joe doesn’t care.

-Taylor and Hemme get prepared for their match.

-Traci Brooks makes her way to the ring to be our special referee.

Non-Title Match: Taylor Wilde © vs. Christy Hemme Traci Brooks is the Special Referee

Why is Christy Hemme wrestling? Lock up and then arm drags by Wilde. Hemme complains, drop toehold by Wilde and then bends Hemme in half. Hemme bites her hand, forearms by Wilde and a whip to the corner. They botch a bulldog spot and Hemme covers for 2. Hemme stands on her hair and pulls her up by the arms, and then slams her down by the hair. Hemme covers for 2. Rights by Wilde, forearms follow and then a whip. Hemme slams her down by the hair again, kicks her in the ass and then delivers some forearms. Hemme covers for 2. Hemme chokes her out with the boot, but Wilde fires back and the gets an arm drag. A clothesline follows, another and then a sloppy as northern light suplex for 2. Matrix by Hemme to avoid the kick, split leg drop by Hemme gets 2. To the 2nd rope and misses the split leg drop from the ropes. Wilde gets a German with a bridge for the win.

Winner: Taylor Wilde @ 3:00 via pin
# That sucked. Blown moves hurt the match, and there is NO reason Christy Hemme should be getting that much offense in on the champ. She shouldn’t even be in the ring.
RATING: DUD

-KONG and Saeed are out now. Wilde attacks as she enters the ring, Brooks tries to separate them, grabs Kong by the hair and Kong chokeslams her! Saeed and Kong beat down Wilde, and Saeed stands on her face. Kong then grabs her as Saeed gets a chair, lays it down and Gail Kim is out to make the save. She brawls with Kong, lung blower! Neck breaker on Saeed, but Kong levels her. Chops by Kong, a slam off of a cross body try by Kong and she misses a chair shot. Kim dropkicks it into her face and WAFFLES her with it! Gail runs off Kong as her sister is happy with the outcome.

-Rough Cuts with Consequences Creed is up next.

-Don and Mike say that the segments are cool so that we can learn about the person, good call chief.

-Lauren is with LAX, minus Homicide. Hector is pissed and says Homicide is not here due to what Beer Money did to him. If you attack someone in the family, you attack the entire family. Hernandez says when they took out Homicide, they took every thing from him. Not the titles, his brother. He is going back to the old ways, 5150 style, PRISON RULES WHITE BOY! I think he was nicely saying that he’s going to make Storm his bitch.

-We get a video package of Beer Money winning the tag titles.

-Lauren is with Beer Money. They joke about Hernandez being upset. Roode says they beat them for the titles and they are on top of the world. Roode says they are the champions, and asks where Strom’s belt is. He hid it under his “place belt here” shirt. Storm calls Hernandez queer, makes fun of drive through Mexican food (Jackie says she wants a beef taco, and they say no surprise there) and they are generally awesome.

James Storm w/Roode and Miss Jackie vs. Hernandez w/Salinas and Hector Guerrero

Hernandez attacks Storm on the floor and we’re underway! Hernandez beats him down, tossed him in the ring and gets a big corner splash. He tosses Storm to the floor and BIG DIVE onto Beer Money! He tosses Storm back in, kills him Vader style with a charge and then delivers chops. A whip and reversal, Storm to the apron and an Enziguri by Storm then Roode gets a shot in as well. A knee drop by Storm and a cover for 2. Storm applies the chinlock, Hernandez to his feet and misses a clothesline and Storm gets a high knee, Harley Race style and covers for 2. Double fish hooks by Storm, slams Hernandez down and as he goes back on the attack Hernandez gets an Electric Chair. Both men are down, they get to their feet and rights by Hernandez. Off the ropes and a clothesline, and then another. Off the ropes and a big backdrop by Hernandez. SICK dragon style suplex and a cover for 2.To the corner, Storm set up top and chops by Hernandez. Hernandez up with him and Jackie grabs his foot, Storm fights back and gets the inverted tornado DDT for 2. Storm picks him up, airplane spin countered into a backdrop by Hernandez. Border Toss stopped by Roode, Hernandez sends him to the barricade and Storm gets a boot and leaps off the 2nd rope, caught and a SIT OUT MEX BOMB by Hernandez ends it.

Winner: Hernandez @ 5:00 via pin
# It wasn’t bad, but lacked some flow. Hernandez does have potential as a singles, but I think he needs to be in there with the right guy. The match was more about the interference from Roode and Jackie, with Hernandez overcoming it for the win. This should move to Hernandez vs. Roode next week, and when Homicide is back, a title rematch.
RATING: *¾

-Jim Cornette is out and says next week it is Hernandez vs. Roode. Also next week, Gail Kim will face Kong in a Knockouts Street Fight. At No Surrender, Joe will be in a four ways to glory match, with three challengers. They will have qualifiers, and next week Rhino faces Booker T for a slot in the match.

AJ should be wearing his Gainesville Vocational Singlet. Period one begins, takedown by Angle and he gets 2 points. AJ shoots, misses and back up but Angle gets another takedown, 4-0 for Angle. Angle gets another takedown, and it is 6-0 for Angle. AJ is pissed, they circle and shoots but fails. He keeps trying, but gets nothing as the period ends. It is 6-0 for Angle.

LIGHTS OUT, JJ’s MUSIC! Light back on and AJ has a guitar and WAFFLES ANGLE! Angle is bleeding from the cut from that ladder shot, and AJ covers for the win. Seriously, did the ref not see the shit left behind by the guitar?

Winner: AJ Styles via pin
# I didn’t realize that the Olympic Committee allowed Bats and Guitars.
RATING: I don’t rate Olympic Style matches

-AJ wins the gold medal and poses as the show ends.
